Hot Air Balloon
Bill the Balloonist came to TMRCC Sunday, March 22nd. He is a retired school teacher and teaches students about Hot Air Balloons.
The balloon is made of a nylon material.
Bill flies and owns full-size balloons and competes regularly.
After connecting the balloon to the gondola, the balloon is filled with air using a portable blower.,,
Thank You Bill!
You are welcome to visit us at anytime. Who knows, you may want to learn to fly RC planes.
The last step is to heat the air in the balloon. This is done using a gas burner housed in the gondola. After lighting the burner, Bill uses a 72 mHz radio that controls the burner via a servo. The propane bottles are in the gondola.
